Shadow a Stag Program
The Shadow a Stag Program is designed to give you, the student, an opportunity to experience academic and student life at Fairfield University. While on campus, you will be paired with a current student who will take you to class, introduce you to members of the Fairfield community, show you his or her favorite on-campus locations, answer your questions and eat lunch with you in the Barone Dining Hall. By the end of the day, we hope that you will have a better understanding of what it means to be a student at Fairfield.
Students are invited to come to campus during the following date ranges:
Thursday, February 18 through Friday, April 29 *
Thursday, March 3-Monday, March 14, 2016 Spring Break
No Class Visits
Thursday, March 24-Monday, March 28, 2016 Easter
No Class Visits
Please bear in mind that not all classes will be available to observe due to quizzes, tests, presentations, number of seats available, and other limits that are set by the faculty. For this reason, we kindly ask for at least 2 weeks advance notice for all requests in order to communicate with our student hosts and faculty.
Those interested in the opportunity to observe a class in the School of Nursing should select either a Monday or Thursday.
We do not offer visits on Wednesdays.
You have the option of choosing whether to shadow a current student in the morning or afternoon. The morning session runs from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The afternoon session runs from 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. We will do our best to pair you with a student based on your academic interest.
Please fill out the Shadow a Stag Program Request Form
A confirmation will be sent prior to your scheduled visit. We understand that weather or other last minute emergencies may require you to cancel your Shadow a Stag visit. If this is the case, please notify us by e-mail as soon as possible. When rescheduling your visit, please resubmit the Shadow a Stag Program Request Form on our website. We will do our best, but cannot guarantee visits that are rescheduled on short notice.
Shadow a Stag Parent Program
The parent component of the Shadow a Stag Program will consist of a causal conversation over coffee with administrators from various areas of the University. It will occur on select Mondays and Fridays during the month of April.
The formal portion of the parent program will run from 9:30-10:15 am. Following the session with University staff, parents can attend an information session and tour hosted by the Office of Admission, explore campus and the Town of Fairfield or relax in the campus center and access the University Wi-Fi network.
Those families interested in the parent component should sign up their student for a corresponding morning session.
