Financial Aid Applications & Deadlines

Eligibility for financial aid is based primarily on financial need. Fairfield University uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the College Board's CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE to determine financial aid eligibility for all undergraduate students. These applications take into account the income, assets and investments of parents and students, the number of dependents in the family, the number of siblings attending college, and several other important factors when calculating financial need.

Please read the important information below about Fairfield University's financial aid application deadlines, application processes and required forms.

Submit your CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE School Code: 3390

Note: These deadlines are firm. CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE or FAFSA applications received after these deadlines above will not be guaranteed need-based financial aid. Students interested in financial aid should complete both of these applications annually, by the stated deadlines.

Noncustodial PROFILE Application

While divorce or separation may complicate the extent to which one or both parents can contribute financially to college, it does not absolve either parent of this obligation. Our policy for determining the financial need of students whose parents are divorced or separated derives from the central principle that both parents are responsible for the support of their children to the extent that they are financially capable.

In cases of divorce or separation, the parent with whom the student resides (and if applicable, a step-parent) is responsible for completing the FAFSA and CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE. Fairfield University also requires that the noncustodial (NCP) parent complete the Noncustodial PROFILE.

Early Action and Early Decision Applicants - January 1

Regular Decision Applicants - February 15

Returning Students (undergraduate, full-time) - APRIL 15 ** New Deadline for 2013-2014**

Note: These deadlines are firm. Financial aid award notifications will NOT be generated if this application is received after the deadline. In addition, need-based financial aid will not be guaranteed if this form is received after the deadline.

If the noncustodial parent is unable to complete the Noncustodial PROFILE on a student's behalf, Fairfield may waive this requirement in extraordinary circumstances. In order to start the appeal process, all incoming students should complete and submit the Noncustodial PROFILE Waiver Appeal Form, with supporting documentation, to the Office of Financial Aid no later than
March 31.

Returning students, whose parent's marital status may have changed since filing the FAFSA/CSS PROFILE in the previous year(s) and as a result, may experience difficulty getting their noncustodial parent to complete the Noncustodial PROFILE, should submit the appeal form no later than April 15.
