Federal Work-Study (FWS) job listings for 2012-2013 will become available for eligible students beginning June 1, 2012. Jobs will be updated regularly as jobs are filled and the number of openings per department is subject to change.

Fairfield offers FWS awards to eligible, full-time undergraduate students only. Students can check award eligibility via my.Fairfield (under My Academics tab, Financial Aid channel). Eligible students can submit the FWS Student Interest Form to one or more supervisors listed below.

To Apply For a FWS Job:

  1. Complete a FWS Student Interest Form.
  2. Log in to the job (or jobs) you would like to apply to, using your NetID/password.
  3. Submit your FWS Student Interest Form (by e-mail) to the FWS Supervisor provided in the job listing. This will complete the job application process.
  4. Please be patient during the application and interview process as it may take some time for supervisors to review applications, contact students and set up interviews. Some supervisors will be in touch with you by phone or e-mail during the summer or some may contact you for an interview when you arrive on campus in September.

Keep Our Art Safe! The Bellarmine Museum of Art needs students to serve as security guards when we are open to the public.

The museum welcomes visitors on Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During those days/hours, we will need two students to serve as Museum Security Guards.

Guards are also needed for occasional evening opening receptions, and monthly on Saturdays from 12-5 for Family Days.

One student mans the entrance/front hall/cast corridor, while the other monitors the Museum's three galleries; students rotate locations with each other at least once during shifts.

Duties

Student Guards have several very important duties. They are as follows:

  • Count museum patrons upon entrance to the museum
  • Require patrons guest book
  • Ensure all museum rules and guidelines are followed at all times by patrons.
  • Ask patrons to leave coats, backpacks, and other belongings in the coatroom
  • Answer basic questions (i.e. restroom/coatroom locations)

Student Guards will act as a student ambassador for the Museum. Guards will have two-way radios to communicate with the Museum Director and the Collections Manager at all times. Guards will also have access to Campus Security via cell phone in case of an emergency. The Museum's state-of-the-art security system will also support in the Guard's duties.
