Carole A. Pomarico, MSN, MA, RN
Carole Pomarico is an Assistant Professor and Adult Program Director in the School of Nursing at Fairfield University. Carole completed a Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Arts at Fairfield University. Her professional interests include non-traditional adult education and advocacy for the well-being of all nursing students. She taught pediatrics at Fairfield for 28 years before being named the Adult Program Director. As Adult Program Director, she has significantly increased enrollment in both the second degree and RN/BSN programs. Her commitment and passion for nursing and nursing students has made her a valuable person for recruitment and retention. Carole has recently received grants from both the Helene Fuld Health Trust, in collaboration with Duke University, and The Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) Foundation. The Duke University grant focused on evaluating outcomes in nursing education, and the RWJ grant provides tuition funds to those persons underrepresented in nursing. Pomarico serves on the following Advisory Boards: Fairfield University School of Nursing, The Connecticut Community Colleges, St. Vincent's College, and Norwalk Community College. She has been an active member of The Business Council of Fairfield County where she served on the "One Coast One Future Health Care Workforce Initiative."
