Message from the Director
Dear Prospective Student,
Increasingly educators are being called upon to integrate technology into their teaching to meet the needs of the 21st Century learner. School library media specialists are in a unique position to collaborate with teachers and support students in information and media literacy. As schools in Connecticut are experiencing increasing needs for technology support, they will continue to seek qualified school media specialists. This position has become so critical that according to the Connecticut State Department of Education, school library media specialists are currently listed in the top ten designated teacher shortage areas.
