The TESOL and Bilingual/Multicultural Education programs are designed for teachers and prospective teachers in the areas of teaching English to speakers of other languages and bilingual education. GSEAP offers several programs that prepare teachers to meet the needs of students in grades Pre-K through 12 who are learning a second language. These include programs for cross-endorsement only, master's degrees, and C.A.S. (Sixth Year degrees) in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or Bilingual Education.

Fairfield is the only NCATE and TESOL accredited university in Connecticut to offer initial certification with an M.A. in TESOL and cross-endorsements in bilingual education (Elementary and Secondary). The programs benefit from the University's proximity to schools with long-established bilingual and ESL programs. Teachers come to the program from Mexico and Central America, as well as China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, Greece, Portugal, Romania, the Czech Republic, and other countries.
