Fairfield University's Master of Science in accounting has designated tracks in assurance, tax and accounting information systems. The 30-credit program provides advanced knowledge in the field of accounting, so individuals can succeed in an environment that increasingly requires a grounding in ethical, legal, and regulatory matters, as well as knowledge of technology's role in accounting, financial reporting, auditing and tax. You’ll not only meet these professional needs, but also address the educational requirements of most states for CPA certification. For those who choose to pursue the tax track, 6 tax courses are required, although completion of at least 7 tax courses is recommended.
During the full-time program (beginning summer semester and ending in May), you'll enjoy the communal aspect of the program, close interaction with faculty, and the ability to finish your MSA in one year, with time off to take portions of the CPA exam and/or intern (for pay) in public accounting. This dedication and flexibility provides you the necessary skills and confidence to succeed in your career endeavors.
