Research & Creative Accomplishments Symposium

On April 25th, Fairfield University will host a showcase of student work - from traditional research papers and projects to innovative art exhibitions and performances. Students at all levels in all academic disciplines are invited to share their projects with the entire campus community in the Atrium of the Barone Campus Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The entire university community is invited to attend this special event to celebrate our students' academic accomplishments.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate, students must:
- Be full- or part-time, currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at Fairfield University.
- Have completed their projects under the guidance or supervision of a faculty or staff member.
- Agree to be present, in person, at the Research & Creative Accomplishments Symposium.
- Submit an online application before the deadline on April 12, 2013.
Application Procedure
In order to be considered for the Research & Creative Accomplishments Symposium, prior to the deadline on April 12th, students must submit the online application using the following links: individual project or collaborative team project. Due to space constraints, poster presentations are most strongly encouraged. Funding is available to offset costs of some presentation materials.
Selection Criteria
A committee composed of faculty and staff will judge submissions based on the quality of each project. In addition, the committee will seek to balance participation across a range of disciplines, class years, and presentation formats.

More Opportunities
The Research & Creative Accomplishments Symposium will be held in conjunction with the 13th Annual Sigma Xi Student Poster Session from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Atrium of the Barone Campus Center. Refer to the Sigma Xi website to learn more about this event or to submit an application. Students from the School of Nursing will also be exhibiting their Transition to Professional Practice capstone projects on the same day from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Oak Room of the Barone Campus Center. The entire university community is invited to attend both of these events, as well.
Students are also invited to submit their work to the online student project directory that highlights accomplishments of students at Fairfield University or to submit their research papers for a Library Research Prize.
