The Office of Sponsored Programs provides assistance to faculty and staff in the identification of federal, state or local funding opportunities and assists with the development and submission of proposals, along with close management of all funded awards.
The Sponsored Programs Director works closely with faculty and staff to ensure each proposal complies with agency guidelines and, when awarded, works directly with the principal investigator and the finance office to ensure compliance with agency requirements and regulations.
Support services include but are not limited to:
Pre-Award:
- Identify suitable funding opportunities, search for sponsors, and locate and obtain sample proposals.
- Proposal Preparation: One-on-one meetings to advise on correct interpretation and use of guidelines. Prepare the budget in consultation with the principal investigator and assure budgets are adequate for proposed project. Assure compliance with sponsoring agency solicitation and university policies. Prepare standard forms and provide editing services for proposal drafts.
Submission:
- Administrative Approval and Submission Process: Obtain proper administrative signatures/authorizations. Submit the proposal to the sponsor via electronic submission or Federal Express.
Post-Award
- Grant/contract administration: Receive, review, and set up awards, and interpret federal and sponsor guidelines for administering awards. Provide assistance with award expenses, reporting, and documentation up to closing-out of award.
