Current Research Interests
Dr. Kazer's research interests focus nursing care to meet the needs of older adults She currently working on several funded research studies aimed at supporting the psychosocial needs of men with prostate cancer, especially those undergoing active surveillance. Past investigations have continually supported this area of research. Dr. Kazer also has varied her research to include independent and collaborative research projects focused on education of nurses toward the care of older adults. These projects have included: Palliative Care Nursing Integration, Spirituality in Nursing Program and a Geriatric Nurse Certificate Program. In addition to the many publications detailing these projects, Dr. Kazer is the Research Brief Editor for the journal Applied Nursing Research, and a reviewer for a number of research journals including: Western Journal of Nursing Research, International Journal of Nursing Education & Scholarship, American Journal of Nursing, Medscape's Topics in Advanced Practice Nursing, ADVANCE for Nurses, International Nursing Review, and the Journal of the American Geriatric Society. She is the chair of the Global Initiatives committee for Region 15 of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing and a member of the Research and Scholarship Advisory Council for the organization. She is also a member of the membership committee of the Eastern Nursing Research Society.
