Current Research Interests
Dr. Schwab's research concerns an iconographical study and publication of the Parthenon East and North Metopes. These studies bring together previous publications of individual articles and incorporate new material based on recent examinations of each metope. The results are intended to provide an improved understanding of the original composition's appearance and the interplay between each series within the metope program. Drawings of the current condition of the metope and a reconstruction for each composition are intended to help both scholar and student.
A long-term project is to collaborate with other scholars in an investigation of ancient Greek sculptors and their work on large public buildings, and the relationships that existed between architectural sculpture programs.
