Marice Rose is an alumna of Fairfield, with a degree in French and Art History. She first joined Fairfield as a full-time faculty member in Fall 2000 while completing her Ph.D. at Rutgers University. Dr. Rose participated in the installation and publication of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's ancient Cypriot art collection and was a member of the Palatine East excavation team in Rome, Italy. Currently, her art historical research focuses on classical reception, images of women and slaves in Roman domestic art, and hairstyles'meanings in antiquity. She has an active conference schedule, presenting her work nationally and internationally. Dr. Rose also engages in pedagogical scholarship, specifically on increasing student engagement through interdisciplinary, integrative learning.  Classes she teaches are cross-listed in the Irish Studies, Classical Studies, Catholic Studies, Women's Studies, and Russian/East European Studies programs.
