Dr. Bharat B. Bhalla received Ph.D. degree in Business and Public Finance from Cornell University in 1966. After his graduation, Dr. Bhalla spent 20 years in prospecting and developing joint venture opportunities, involving US technology and local entrepreneurs, in countries of Asia and Latin & South America. During this period he lived in Japan for three years (1970-192) working for the Private Investment Company for Asia (PICA), a multilateral investment bank. In 1987, Dr. Bhalla joined the Fairfield University Charles F. Dolan School of Business as professor of finance. In 1994, Dr. Bhalla established a baccalaureate degree program in International Studies; a collaborative program between the College of Arts & Sciences and the Charles F. Dolan School of Business and managed it as a Co-director for five years (1994-1999). In 1995 he founded the federally-funded Center for Global Competitiveness in Fairfield University. From 2001-2003, Dr. Bhalla served as an Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Programs of Charles F. Dolan School of Business at Fairfield University and in 2004 accepted a one-year appointment as an Acting Dean of Business School at Southern Connecticut State University. Currently, Dr. Bhalla teaches Global Financial Markets & Institutions both to undergraduate and graduate students and International Business Management to graduate students at Fairfield University.
