Current Research Interests
Dr. Edelman's early research focused on developing collaborative peer learning contexts that are motivating and beneficial to students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She investigated training non-ADHD peers to model and engage their partners with ADHD to participate in collaborative learning in ways that promote positive academic outcomes. This research was presented at Oxford University, England.
More recently, Dr. Edelman presented her work on, perceptions of academic self-efficacy of students with ADHD, at the International Conference on Education, Economy, and Society in Paris. This work was accepted as a chapter in the book, Cultures of Teacher Education: Comparative International Issues of Curriculum, Pedagogy, and Attainment which is expected to be available internationally in January of 2013.
Dr. Edelman is presently completing a study exploring motivational constructs that impact on the academic performance of students with ADHD. This work is titled, The Effects of Task Difficulty and Methyiphenidate on Predictions, Persistence, and Performance for Children with ADHD.
