Fairfield University is currently engaged in a refresh of its Strategic Plan. Fairfield 2020: Building a Sustainable Future is year long process, in which teams of faculty, students, staff, and administrators will consider all aspects of the University's programs and operations, with a view to developing best practices and innovative new strategies to ensure that the University remains a thought-leader, continues to deliver programs that meet the needs of the marketplace, and remains a model for the renewal of Jesuit education for the 21st century.
Fairfield is a non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Trustees that appoints the President. The Board maintains legal authority and responsibility for the operations of the University. The Board, of which the President is a member, makes policy decisions and establishes institutional objectives and priorities.
